Driver’s Door Hits

Skyfire Productions discusses safety in the ring

There have been numerous complaints regarding driver's door hits. Every effort is made to make sure these hits do not occur sometimes due to a vehicle crossing the path of another results in an accidental hit. However, we watch to see if the driver makes an attempt to stop, slow, or avoid the hit. The rules do state that driver's doors must be clearly marked with an orange circle, or as some do paint the door orange. Dark colored doors should be painted white before the orange. We have not in the past enforced this rule, but be forewarned if you should elect to ignore this rule do not complain to the officials about being hit in driver's door as competitors are looking for that orange marking. With all the smoke and dust it is sometimes hard to determine which side of the car you are looking at.
