Demo Derby Driver’s Participation Rules

The demo derby is open to men and women who have a valid drivers license and are 18 years of age; if 16 or 17 years of age, you must have a notarized consent from parent or guardian. In the interest of fairness to all contestants the following rules and regulations shall prevail. Driver and pit persons must sign a waiver and release of liability prior to entering pit area or arena. Drivers must attend drivers meeting prior to race. THE DRIVER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF HIS/HER PIT CREW IN ALL RESPECTS. THE DRIVER SHALL BE THE SOLE SPOKESPERSON FOR HIS/HER CAR OWNER AND THE PIT CREW IN ANY AND ALL MATTERS AND MUST TALK TO THE CHIEF SKYFIRE TRACK OFFICIAL REGARDING THEIR CONDUCT.

ANY PARTICIPANT WHO DEFIES OR VIOLATES THE INTENT OR SPIRIT OF THE SKYFIRE RULES SHALL BE CONSIDERED TO HAVE ENGAGED IN UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT AND SHALL BE DEALT WITH BY THE SKYFIRE TRACK OFFICIALS. DEPENDING UPON NATURE OF THE INFRACTION, UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AND/OR SUSPENSION.

NO PARTICIPANT SHALL SUBJECT ANY SKYFIRE OFFICIAL, TRACK EMPLOYEE, OR SPONSOR TO ANY ABUSE OR IMPROPER LANGUAGE AT ANY TIME. ANY PARTICIPANT WHO ASSAULTS OR THREATENS ANY SKYFIRE OFFICIAL, TRACK OFFICIAL, TRACK EMPLOYEE OR SPONSOR MAY BE DISQUALIFIED AND/OR SUSPENDED.

ANYONE ENTERING THE PIT AREA MUST BE PROPERLY ATTIRED AT ALL TIMES. MUST WEAR AT LEAST A T-SHIRT, LONG PANTS AND CLOSED TOE SHOES. NO TANK TOPS, OR SLEEVELESS SHIRTS PERMITTED.

DURING COMPETITION, DRIVER MUST WEAR A LONG SLEEVED SHIRT, LONG PANTS, AND CLOSED TOE SHOES. A FIREPROOF SUIT IS RECOMMENDED.

ANYONE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF INTOXICATING BEVERAGES OR DRUGS PRIOR TO OR DURING THE SHOW DISQUALIFIES THE CAR AND CREW OF OFFENDING PARTY.

ANY DRIVER, CAR OWNER, OR MECHANIC WHO TAKES PART IN ANY DEMONSTRATIONS OR FIGHTS ON THE TRACK, IN THE PIT OR SURROUNDING AREAS BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER A RACE SHALL BE SUBJECT TO SUSPENSION.

A DRIVER WILL BE ALLOWED TO RUN IN CONSOLATION HEAT IF ANY DOOR COMES OPEN DURING HIS/HER HEAT.

IF A PARTICIPANT ENTERS 2 CARS AND WINS HIS/HER HEAT. THE SECOND CAR MAY BE PREQUALIFIED FOR FEATURE BY RUNNING IN ANOTHER HEAT FOR 3 MINUTES.

In the event there is an incident on the track all drivers must remain in their vehicles and all pit crew must remain off the track. This is mandatory to allow emergency and track officials to respond and deal with the incident. If you feel you need to respond to said incident you must get permission from a Skyfire official.

THE PROMOTER, TRACK OWNER, OR FAIR ASSOCIATION WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CARS, PARTS, OR PROPERTY BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER THE SHOW OR OVERNIGHT.

THE DECISION OF THE RACE DIRECTOR, JUDGES, STEWARDS AND OFFICIALS OF SKYFIRE WILL BE FINAL.

ANY DRIVER OR PIT CREW MEMBER IN VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE SKYFIRE DEMOLITION DERBY DRIVERS AND PARTICIPATION RULES AND/ OR SAFETY AND SETUP PREPARATION OF CAR RULES MAY LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION AND/OR SUSPENSION.

ALL INJURIES MUST BE REPORTED TO SKYFIRE OFFICIALS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE EVENT AREA.

MEMBERS AND ENTRANTS OF SKYFIRE DEMOLITION DERBY ARE NOT EMPLOYEES OF THE PROMOTER NOR THE SPONSORING TRACK, AND ARE CONSIDERED TO BE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS.
